The history of Electric Blue

The starting point.

Electric Blue was formed in Turin in 2018. Four musicians came together around the music of The Cranberries, a repertoire that demands more care than its apparent simplicity suggests: fragility and impact, essential parts and sudden openings, silence and sharply defined dynamics.

After the first rehearsals, the project found a stable home in Giorgio Giardina's music workspace. That room was made available to the band and for years became the place for rehearsal, preparation and day-to-day work. It later developed into Circuiti Umani, a recording and music production studio in Turin.

Giorgio brought experience as a guitarist, songwriter and producer; Elvis D'Elia approached the repertoire from the drums with an increasingly strong focus on concert dynamics. Both entered Electric Blue with earlier musical experience and a relationship with stage and studio work that became one of the project's points of continuity.

From rehearsal room to stage.

The repertoire became solid through live performance. Turin was the first laboratory: clubs and venues allowed the band to test timing, sound, audience response and the overall shape of the show. Over time, dates outside the region and increasingly demanding travel followed.

Giorgio and Elvis developed an increasingly methodical approach: sound preparation, arrangement detail, rhythmic dynamics, rehearsal organisation and the ability to adapt the concert to different rooms. Growth was not only about the number of shows; expectations about what the project could become also changed.

The set expanded beyond the most famous singles. Alongside Zombie, Linger and Dreams, the band explored songs that require a deeper familiarity with The Cranberries' language and the relationship between voice, guitars and rhythm section.

Dreams: from tribute project to a structured production.

The Electric Blue journey also included a new production of Dreams. The track was produced and arranged by Giorgio Giardina within Circuiti Umani, which oversaw the production work and commissioned Davvero Comunicazione, a professional music communication agency, to handle its promotion.

The vocal recording was performed by the singer who was part of the line-up at the time. The work on Dreams marked one of the moments when Electric Blue moved beyond the live dimension and became more clearly connected with production, arrangement and professional communication.

Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland.

The project gradually moved beyond the Turin circuit. Travel became part of its live identity and brought Electric Blue to stages in Italy and elsewhere in Europe. Ireland had a particular significance: performing The Cranberries repertoire there meant meeting audiences with a direct relationship to the songs and to the culture they came from.

Between 2024 and 2026, the journey included shows in Ireland and the United Kingdom, together with experiences in Switzerland and other locations outside Piedmont. Those trips strengthened professionalism, organisational independence and the ability to handle productions far from home.

For Giorgio and Elvis, the international experience made one belief increasingly clear: the knowledge accumulated over the years should become the starting point for further growth, rather than simply repeating what had already worked.

The historical line-up comes to an end.

In 2026, the shared journey of the historical line-up ended. The previous years were not erased: concerts, travel, repertoire, skills and a history built together remained. But artistic perspectives and ideas about the future no longer pointed in the same direction.

After the separation, a different line-up continued using the Electric Blue name. Giorgio Giardina and Elvis D'Elia instead chose not to pursue a dispute over the name and built a new identity, formally distinct from the previous project.

In June 2026 the Electric Blue Experience trademark was filed. The new project was created with a different line-up and a freer approach to arrangements, sound and dynamics. Continuity lies in experience; discontinuity lies in the artistic entity.
